Big Brothers Big Sisters to Host Volunteer Recognition Event

Tustin, CALIF., April 26, 2007 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County will honor over 300 volunteers who have served as Big Brothers or Big Sisters at a Volunteer Recognition Brick Ceremony and Luncheon on Saturday, May 19, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  Volunteers who joined the program between 2003 and 2006 and who have completed a year or more of service will have their named engraved on a brick to be placed in the walkway of the BBBSOC office in Tustin.  Many volunteers will also receive Presidential Service Awards based on their total hours of service.  KPMG, an international tax advisory service, will be honored with a Group Service Award.  Volunteers from KPMG’s Santa Ana office visit a Santa Ana school weekly to tutor children in need through BBBSOC’s Tutor Pal program.

The event will feature lunch and cooking demonstrations by Panda Express and activities for children including a rock wall.  Systems Paving will be recognized for their donating their services to install the bricks.  

All current Big Brothers Big Sisters matches are welcome to attend.
