BBBS Golf Tournament Nets $153,000

TUSTIN, CALIF., May 10, 2007 – The 30th annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County (BBBSOC) Golf Tournament netted $153,000 to support the work of the organization matching adult mentors with children in need.  This was an increase of nearly $15,000 over the amount raised in the 2006 tournament.

The tournament was held at the prestigious Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, and included course games and a chance to win tournament awards, raffle prizes, a silent auction and dinner at Monarch’s Club 19. 

Title sponsors included Villa Nova Restaurant, Bowne and Opus West Corporation.  Oakley donated 160 pairs of its Thump 1 sunglasses for the tournament players.  .

BBBSOC’s Chief Executive Officer Gus Valdespino extended his thanks to the tournament’s sponsors, BBBSOC staff and volunteers, and the committee who helped organize the event.  Committee members included: John Bendetti, Kirt Boultinghouse, Mike Gottlieb, Tom Konoske, Paul Marshall, Big Brother Denyn Pysz, Scott Shean, Todd Walkow, Steve Williams and David Wolf.
